No Power? No Problem

Due to Diwali, the week was cut short by two days. Instead of the usual Monday, this week started on Wednesday. When the team returned from their Diwali break to discover that there was no electricity, the entire office was being run by the inverter, which only powered 2 switches and a few lights. The team eagerly waited for the power to return, but to their disappointment, there was a major fault in the transformer nearby, which would take hours to fix. A BSES van was there to rescue. I can say that the van was as popular as the JCB bulldozer by the number of people gathered around it, in scorching heat, to watch them do their work.

No electricity meant no work, which led to all kinds of chatter, from everyone’s Diwali celebrations to movie reviews to Harry Potter. With no electricity, the team bonded over laughter and stories, just like in the good old days before the internet took over for the first few hours of the day, but work restarted with Ranjini’s quick thinking. She got the entire office running with just two power plugs and two extension cords. But the inverter gave up after a couple of hours, so everyone got to work from home. The next day, even electricity was back, and so was the JV team, fully refreshed. Even though the work started quite late due to Bhai Dooj festivities, the team completed all the backlogs.

As the week drew to a close, the office buzzed with excitement as the team prepared to host the Uniglobe team for an inspiring brainstorming session. The meeting turned out to be a huge success, sparking fresh ideas for Uniglobe’s calendar. Adding a sweet touch to the day, the Uniglobe team gifted everyone thoughtful presents—and the JV team responded with a warm, creative thank-you video in appreciation.

Just when the team thought the week couldn’t get any more eventful, the electricity decided to betray JV once again. With the workstations down and lights out, creativity took over—the team started filming overly dramatic shots of Anoop Sir’s Hot Wheels car, turning the dull blackout into a full-blown production set.

But before that dramatic blackout, the office witnessed its very own pineapple saga. Salman, in a burst of midday hunger, ordered a pineapple for everyone. Charu enthusiastically volunteered to peel it—but in her enthusiasm, she peeled away not just the skin but half the pineapple too. What followed were endless jabs from Anoop, laughter echoing through the room, and finally, Aamir stepping in like a true hero to rescue what was left of the fruit.

Between the pineapple misadventure and the Hot Wheels action sequence, the day turned into one of those hilarious, unforgettable JV office moments. And with that, this is Sambha, signing off from another electrifying (and occasionally powerless) week at JV
